Archbishop Sean Brady officially launches the Catholic Education Website at St. Mary's University College, Belfast.

- Reconciliation, love of neighbour, respect for difference: these values are intrinsic to Catholic education;
- Catholic education brings together the three most important and formative influences in the life of any child: the home, the parish and the school;
- the school curriculum can, and should, offer technical and professional training for future employment but we believe it cannot, and should not, be shaped solely by the needs of the consumer economy … it should serve society by forming human individuals who, in turn, will change society for the better.
- I appeal today to all parents to ensure that their children are taught to respect the role of the teachers in their school. Education Minister, Caitriona Ruana and Archbishop Sean Brady surf the website with the assistance of the Head Girl from St. Dominic's High School, Belfast.  Mr Peter Quinn (Guest Speaker at the launch event) along with the Education Minister and Archbishop Brady are given a tour through the many features of the website by pupils from Corpus Christi College and St. Rose's High School, Belfast.  CGCE members together with Archbishop Sean Brady and Mr Peter Quinn. The website was created, designed and developed by the CGCE.(Consultative Group for Catholic Education) |
